D – In the scope of its commitment to protecting moorland at its own company locations, Jung is donating €5,200 in aid of two regional restoration projects in Baden-Württemberg and Thuringia this year. Jung is thus contributing voluntary support to climate protection efforts, in which wetlands are playing a significant role as CO2 sinks.

In Baden-Württemberg, Jung is funding the “Moorland Restoration and Climate Protection in Kugelmoos” project in Villingen-Schwenningen, a project of the Baden-Württemberg Climate Protection Foundation and part of the new Baden-Württemberg BW Climate Fund. This voluntary donation will ensure the long-term protection of approximately 400 square metres of moorland. As evidence of its commitment to climate and nature conservation, Jung receives so-called nature premiums. The support enables the permanent sequestration of approximately 40 tons of CO2 over a period of 80 years – a measurable contribution to supporting the climate protection goals of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

In Thuringia, the large-scale nature conservation project “Streams, moors and mountain meadows in the Thuringian Forest” by the David Nature Foundation, a foundation of BUND Thuringia (Friends of the Earth Germany), is being supported. This project aims, among other things, to make the Thuringian Forest more climate-resilient. The financial support contributes to the renaturalisation of streams, the rewetting of drained moors and the long-term preservation of species-rich mountain meadows.

For Jung, this contribution to the protection of the moors is part of its overarching responsibility for climate and biodiversity and demonstrates the company’s commitment to ecological responsibility.

“With our locations in Baden-Württemberg and Thuringia, we have close ties to these regions. Therefore, we specifically support projects that have a positive ecological impact here,” explained Tania Teschner, Head of Marketing and Press at Jung. “Moorland restoration is one of the most effective measures for sequestering CO₂ and securing habitats – something we want to actively promote.”
