Daniel Jeschonowski.
D – According to consistent media reports (including the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), the two sister companies Kahla, based in Kahla, Thuringia, (porcelain) and Senator, based in Groß-Bieberau, Hessen, (writing instruments and cups) have filed for regular insolvency in recent days. The provisional insolvency administrator for Kahla is Erfurt-based lawyer Thomas Jacobs, while the provisional insolvency administrator for Senator is Frankfurt-based lawyer Julia Kappel-Gnirs.
The managing director and shareholder of both long-established companies is entrepreneur Daniel Jeschonowski. He took over Senator in 2018 and Kahla in 2020 and, after extensive restructuring work, repositioned both companies as Made in Germany suppliers in the promotional products market. The problems facing the two companies are different in nature, according to Jeschonowski in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. At Kahla, declining sales are the cause of the financial difficulties, while at Senator, excessive costs are to blame.
At the time of going to press, no direct statement had been received from Senator or Kahla.
