Green Factory3 - Brands Fashion: Sustainability Report published

The opening of the Green Factory in India also played a role in Brands Fashion’s 2024 sustainability report .

D – Brands Fashion has published its sustainability report for the year 2024 to underline its claim of credible communication and to inform the stakeholders reliably and comprehensively. As such, Brands Fashion decided not to follow the so-called Omnibus Initiative, a legislative package that offers companies the opportunity to publish their sustainability data in a highly condensed form.

The 30-page report is oriented on the demands of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and shows the most relevant data and previous year comparisons for the core areas of activity, materials and products, initiatives and standards, partners and suppliers as well as for the team and locations. The report is based on a double materiality analysis carried out, the findings of which systematically flow into the risk analysis and future report formats.

The report underlines among others distinctions such as winning the German Award for Sustainability Projects for the “From the field to the fan shop” project or the opening of the LEED-Platinum Standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified Green Factory 2.0 of the company’s partner, Sags Apparels, in India, but also provides transparent figures. For example, it explains that 85% of the 7,300 tonnes of cotton processed originated from controlled biological cultivation or cotton in conversion, which corresponds to a 2% increase compared to the previous year. Of the polyester processed, around 18% was made from recycled material, while 56% of all textile items procured were distinguished with a sustainable product seal.
