The 40th anniversary of the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair was celebrated in the scope of a networking reception.

“The seven big events of the HKTDC at the end of April brought approx. 6,000 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions together. In spite of the current challenges in the global economic and trade landscape, we were able to actively attract buyers to our trade fairs to increase the trade’s resilience and help the exhibitors gain a foothold in new markets like the Middle East and the ASEAN regions. The HKTDC is still striving to promote cross-industry and international trade cooperations between the exhibitors, strengthen Hong Kong’s position as an international trade hub and accentuate its unique advantage in developing connections at regional and global level,” commented Sophia Chong, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director.

To gain deeper insights into the current trends of the industry, the HKTDC carried out a survey among 1,583 exhibitors and visitors of the Gifts & Premium Fair, Home InStyle and Fashion InStyle. According to the survey, almost half of the respondents are expecting their overall turnover to increase over the next one or two years, whilst approx. 45% are forecasting that their turnovers will remain constant. Increased protectionist measures (46%), fluctuations in the global economy (43%) and the effects of inflation (32%) were stated to be the major challenges.
