asi 550x367 181x121 - ASI: Industry report 2023USA – The US American industry network, ASI, has published the State of the Industry 2023 report on its website. The report examines relevant areas such as the market and price development, supply chains and product trends and much more from an American viewpoint. According to the report the turnover and profit have reached the pre-COVID level again – in spite of a decline in the number of items sold. The survey states that this phenomenon is due to inflation and the increased demand for high-quality products. The report lists clothing as the product category with the highest turnover, followed by drinking vessels, bags and writing instruments.

The number of distributors and suppliers interviewed, who had problems with the supply chains, declined significantly in comparison to 2022. The increasing prices tended to cause more difficulties in 2023: 97% of the distributors were worried about the price increases of their suppliers.

More than half of the suppliers interviewed in the course of the ASI Report are looking for alternative production sites and supply sources to China, which means the trend of the past years is ongoing. However, the established infrastructure in China means the location will continue to be indispensable in the near future.

The demand for sustainable items declined slightly, but remains at over 50% so that the authors of the report came to the conclusion that this market segment has established itself.

The complete survey with all figures and details is available in the member section of the ASI website.
