andreas haller wa - WA Media: Reinforcement for the editorial department

Dr. Andreas J. Haller

D – The Cologne-based media service provider and event organiser, WA Media, has welcomed a new employee to its team: Dr. Andreas J. Haller has been reinforcing the editorial department of the specialist publishing company since October 17, 2022. Haller who has a doctorate in literature was previously employed as a PR editor at the Centre for Development Research in Bonn and has worked as a freelance author and lecturer. He has also written journalistic, essayistic and literary articles for various magazines and newspapers and has at times earned his living as a ghostwriter and marketing copywriter. Haller’s book Mystical Areas of Lawlessness was published by Ergon in 2020 and is about the cultural significance of literary characters like Jesse James and Robin Hood.

“What particularly interests me about haptic advertising is its materiality. We are spending more and more time in virtual worlds where information is conveyed in a purely audiovisual manner. Tactile aspects, but also the senses of smell and taste cannot be reached with such formats,” stated Haller. “However, surveys prove that information is processed better through the physical interaction with objects and that people also develop emotional ties to these objects. I find that fascinating.”

In addition to reporting about the national and international promotional products industry in both of the industry-specific magazines published by WA Media, Werbeartikel Nachrichten and eppi magazine, Haller would like to also focus on the strengths and possibilities of haptic advertising for the users. “WA Media is well-aligned in this respect with its two publications, HAPTICA® and Promotion Products,” stated Haller, adding: “After the few first weeks I have settled in very well at WA Media. We really do have a wonderful team here and it is great fun working together with my colleagues.”

“In an increasingly more complicated business environment, the essential role of specialist media is to provide the market with information across a multitude of channels and to provide quality content,” added Dr. Mischa Delbrouck, Chief Editor and Publishing Director at WA Media. “That is why we are delighted to have won over the support of Andreas Haller for our manifold editorial tasks. With his know-how in the field of text processing and research, his knowledge about the media landscape and his open-minded manner, he has been a valuable reinforcement for our team from the very onset.”
