UK – The Big Promotional Trade Show is touring through Great Britain and Ireland for the sixth time this year. After stopping off in Glasgow and Dublin the roadshow visited Manchester on April 18, 2023. Around 80 exhibitors presented their items from the promotional products section to the trade in the VIP area of the Old Trafford stadium. The day began with a so-called “Sustainability Breakfast”, which all of the exhibitors were invited to. Carey Trevill, CEO of the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA), explained how important the right approach to the theme sustainability is to the attendees.

The fact that sustainability has finally also reached the United Kingdom was also visible at the exhibition stands. Many of the exhibitors presented sustainable packaging or products made from recycled plastic. A further topic at the show, which according to the organisers was attended by approx. 120 people, was Brexit. The companies are still having to combat piles of paperwork and documents and on top of this they are faced with uncertain delivery times.

The organiser, Nigel Bailey, was pleased with the outcome of the day: “It is well-attended for a regional show. Contrary to the past years, we recorded 30% growth and we intend to build on this.” The Big Promotional Trade Show event series let its visitors and exhibitors out into the warm sunshine of Manchester just in time for afternoon tea.
