A – The markeding – trade fair for haptic advertising and visual communications – took place on September 29, 2022 in Wels, Upper Austria for the first time again since 2016. The organiser, Martin Zettl, founded the format in 2008. Since 2020, Austria’s most important trade show platform for haptic advertising had exclusively been staged in Vienna – previous to that two additional events had been held in Linz.
79 suppliers from seven nations now presented their products and services, including the who’s who from the promotional products market and a handful of suppliers from related sectors such as printing technology or visual communications in Hall 21 of the Wels Exhibition Centre. The local promotional products agencies, Forum Werbemittel and Wertpräsent, were the sponsors of the markeding Wels. The two companies also belong to the circle of sponsors of the markeding Vienna. As was the case at former editions, the “new” markeding Wels was accompanied by a well-attended lecture programme. According to the official figures, 756 visitors from the industry and world of business as well as three final classes of the BHAK, who majored in Marketing, checked in to the event via the dMAS registration tool and helped the markeding make a successful comeback in Upper Austria. Many of the exhibitors praised the frequency of the visitors particularly in the morning hours as well as the quality of the contacts and enquiries.
There was subsequently an opportunity to raise one’s glass at the evening event, which the organisers had invited numerous VIP guests to attend: Both Forum (25 years) and Wertpräsent (50 years) celebrated anniversaries together with the markeding, who had its in total 25th edition to commemorate. Zettl paid tribute to the exhibitors Jung since 1828, Reflects and Senator, who have been present at each single edition and the Managing Director of Forum, Markus Angermayr, held a moving laudation in Zettl’s honour.
After the successful relaunch of the markeding Wels, in future the event is to be held every two years. As such, the next edition is scheduled to be staged in September 2024. The next markeding show at the Hofburg in Vienna is planned to take place on April 18, 2023.
