D – The packaging specialist, Karl Knauer has been distinguished by Verband Papier, Druck & Medien Südbaden (vpdm) for its ten-year membership in the associations’s CO2 climate initiative. Furthermore, on behalf of the German printing and media association, the testing institute Arktik confirmed that Karl Knauer completely compensated for the energy-related emissions for the Biberach location in the year 2020, among others through the CO2 compensation project for the support of efficient cookers in Ghana. Moreover, Karl Knauer obtained the CO2 emission reduction certificate for the East African well system project in June 2021, which was certified with the so-called “Gold Standard”. The TÜV North Seal guarantees that 100% of the identified CO2 emissions are compensated for.

“For the next generations credible, sustainable management will be even more significant when making personal and business decisions. We set ourselves the goal of impressing our customers, employees and partners by being 100% climate-neutral now already. That means we already completely compensate for our energy consumption today,” is how Stefanie Wieckenberg, managing partner of Karl Knauer, underlined the company’s sustainability strategy. The packaging expert asserts herself for resource-saving material implementation for the development of innovative, ecological cardboard materials and the reduction of the materials used down to a minimum. Whereby the same or indeed improved level of functionality of the packaging product is to be achieved. Karl Knauer also communicated information on its ecological alignment in its recently published sustainability report 2020.
