Volker Griesel
D – Volker Griesel, the managing shareholder of Fare, is celebrating his 30th anniversary at the company this year. In 1993, after completing an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and going on to study Economics, he joined the company his father Gerhard Griesel had taken over from the founders Margot and Guenther Fassbender in the year 1964. Volker Griesel initially worked as a sales clerk, then as assistant to the management, before ultimately being appointed Managing Director in 1999. He has been the sole managing shareholder of the company since 2004.
“When I joined the company in 1993, there were just four employees in a small office,” recalled Griesel. “A lot has changed over the past 30 years. We have experienced continual growth. The head office has been expanded several times, most recently in 2019 when a new building was erected.” Today the company employs a headcount of 60 people in five different departments. Griesel summed up: “In spite of all these changes, Fare has always remained true to its values. We have a keen sense of responsibility, are competent, innovative and likeable. That is what has made us into what we are today: the promotional umbrella specialists in Europe.”
