D – The official inauguration ceremony for elasto’s new logistics and production centre with an expanded production area in Sulzbach-Rosenberg took place on May 5, 2023. According to company accounts, around 450 customers, employees and invited guests from the field of business and politics accepted the invitation,
The event began in the afternoon with a champagne reception. The guests were subsequently greeted by the two elasto Managing Directors, Marcus Sperber and Frank Sperber. “We are very proud to open the new logistics and production centre spanning over 5,500 m² after a construction time of just 17 months and an investment volume of over 15 million Euros. This construction measure will secure the domestic location,” the Managing Director, Marcus Sperber, stated.
A photovoltaic system on the roof of the new logistics centre supplies an output of around 580.000 kWh a year, 36 additional charging stations for electric cars were also created in the scope of the construction work. Especially small volumes of products will be individually customised, packed and prepared for dispatch in the new logistics centre. The direct proximity to the warehouse and logistics area allows the optimisation of the processes and the efficient handling of the customer orders. The new partly automated high-bay warehouse offers around 5,500 palette storage places. On top of this, the automated small parts warehouse with conveyor technology offers around 7,000 further storage places. The expansion enables elasto to increase its storage capacity by approx. 25%, which means the total storage space available is 11,500 m². The individual production units are now bundled together in a new, optimised production layout. The in-line configuration of the present production processes allows the optimisation of the machine set-up times. At the same time, the machines are connected to a central material supply system.
The elasto employees also celebrated the new building.
After the official ceremony, it was possible to take part in individual tours of the production sites and gain an insight into the work processes. Here various products and processes were demonstrated, which met with great interest among the guests. The guests were served with regional specialities from local suppliers during the whole event. Later on in the evening, the band Aeroplane provided the right mood and plenty of entertainment.
