D – The team of Cybergroup is building a monument for the promotional product at the coming PSI Show from January 9-11, 2024 in Düsseldorf: The globally-operating company, which the German promotional products agency cyber-Wear is also part of, is inviting guests to visit the Museum of Promotional Articles, MoPA for short, which covers an area of 170 m² in Hall 10. The installations exhibited in the museum present historical, current-day and future icons of the promotional products and merchandising industry. Eleven so-called time capsules show the visitors how the promotional product arose, its origin, what its original intended purpose was and what the future of haptic advertising might look like. In what direction are promotional and merchandising products headed? What influence do modern technologies have and how can they be integrated into haptic advertising in future?

The exhibition comprising of eleven so-called time capsules will display among others historical matchsticks from Sweden, an item on loan from the Matchstick Museum in Jönköping.

According to Cybergroup, a team of six employees have spent twelve months working on the history of the promotional product to make it experienceable. They carried out research all over the world and hunted for unique specimens. “It is about the synthesis of the most important contemporary witnesses from the very beginning, which in some cases were always also considered to be a record of a period of civilisation: Sacrifices, elections, advertising, branding or even employee recruiting and bonding can be found in applied art and all trades as forms of art. Our aim is to curate a worldwide unique collection of contemporary witnesses that equally do justice to the history, but also to the complexity of the industry,” the CEO of Cybergroup, Steven Baumgaertner, stated. After its premiere at the PSI 2024, the exhibition is to tour Europe in cooperation with the European industry associations.

On January 8, 2024, one day before the PSI Show opens, Cybergroup will be celebrating the opening of the Museum of Promotional Articles together with invited guests from all over the world. “We are delighted that this fantastic exhibition is celebrating its premiere at the PSI. The history of the promotional product and the significance of promotional articles in the marketing mix that has evolved over time are an exciting topic that has occupied mankind for many centuries. It is an honour for us to provide this wonderful Museum of Promotional Articles a stage at the PSI,” the PSI Director, Petra Lassahn, commented.
