F – The two trade shows CTCO and C!Print were held at the Euroexpo in Lyon from January 31 to February 2, 2023. After the events that are organised by 656 Éditions couldn’t be co-staged in 2022 due to COVID-related postponements, they were able to take place parallel to each other again this year. Both exhibitors and visitors from the promotional products, customising and printing sectors were delighted to finally experience the entire spectrum of haptic advertising and the latest printing technologies in one location again.

Whilst, according to official accounts, 314 suppliers of haptic advertising from 15 countries, including 112 newcomers, presented their products and services at the 15th edition of the CTCO, around 260 exhibitors showcased their printing, customising and individualising offers at the 10th edition of the C!Print. As usual, the French industry association, 2fpco (Fédération Française des Professionnels de la Communication par l’Objet) was also represented. On the evening of the second day of the show, the association invited guests to the Lyon event location, Selcius, and conferred several industry awards to its supplier partners. The supporting programme of the dual event also included three fashion shows a day, a conference programme and the Print Lab, where customising technologies were demonstrated. Several innovations were displayed in the trade show zone “Must” – many of which focused on the topic sustainability. The visitors had the opportunity to vote for the promotional product of the year here too. Act for live claimed the award this year.

After their premiere in 2022, so-called speed demos were held again. Around 40 exhibitors used this format to present a product of their choice to the trade fair audience and in front of a camera. The recorded presentations can also be called up online after the event.

With an official attendance figure of 10,670 trade visitors, the CTCO experienced significant growth compared to the previous edition (6,833 visitors), regaining its former strength: At the last edition before the start of the restrictions due to the pandemic in February 2020, the organisers registered 11,192 visitors and thus only around 500 more than this year. Pierre Mirlit, Managing Director of 656 Éditions, is delighted with the outcome of this year’s show: “Beyond the good attendance figures, the excellent performance of CTCO demonstrates the vitality of the industry it supports. These three rich days have carried even further the common desire for innovation, projects, collaboration and development of all participants.”

The attendance figure of this year’s C!Print wasn’t available at the time of going to press. The next edition of both shows is scheduled to take place in Lyon from February 6-8, 2024. A report will also be published in eppi magazine No. 147 (February 22, 2023).
