Amfori BSCI is an initiative that strives to improve the working conditions worldwide, which midocean is committed to in the scope of its compliance policy. On behalf of midocean, amfori BSCI has independent and recurrent audits carried out on the company’s suppliers by accredited auditing firms. The results of each audit are used to develop an improvement plan. The respective production site is then given a specific time frame to carry out the improvements. amfori BSCI and Sedex Smeta 40 audits are regularly carried out at the printing location of midocean to check that the own production sites comply with all of the local, legal working condition requirements. According to midocean, during the latest audit in September no objections had been raised and the auditor had recorded various “Best Practices” – i.e. that the conditions found within the company were better than legally stipulated in several areas. “This good result is down to the huge dedication and commitment of our employees. It also demonstrates that we are a good and attractive employer,” Petra van Elteren, Corporate Social Compliance Manager at midocean stated.
