A – The fifth GXN Conference was held in Kitzbühel, Austria, from October 6 to 9, bringing together international leaders from the promotional products industry. The event was defined by intensive exchanges, strategic discussions and cooperation. The most significant outcome was the adoption of the “Kitzbühel Declaration 2030”, a collective commitment to strengthening the industry’s future viability and its voice within the broader economy and public discourse.

Following an informal networking evening, the first-ever GXN golf tournament was held on October 7. The programme also offered a beginner’s golf clinic, cycling and hiking. The conference agenda over the subsequent days featured a combination between keynotes and panel discussions. Michael Freter and Florian Rotberg provided a strategic overview of the industry, followed by a keynote from Achim Berg, who explored the impact of artificial intelligence on leadership and organisational structures. His presentation called upon CEOs to fundamentally rethink organisational models, decision-making processes and the opportunities presented by AI.

The Kitzbühel Declaration 2030 was passed during the conference.
A central focus was the “One Voice” initiative, spearheaded by the founder of GXN, Michael Freter. The initiative aims to foster a closer collaboration between manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, service providers, and industry associations worldwide. This led to the adoption of the Kitzbühel Declaration 2030, a pioneering moment aiming to connect the industry, brands, organisations and consumers through tangible brand experiences. The Declaration outlines eight guiding principles that link the demonstration of economic impact with sustainability, responsible production, talent development and a stronger presence in the political and public dialogue. The Declaration does not, however, encompass specific implementation programmes. The eight guiding principles are:
- Prove a measurable return on investment (ROI)
- Work collectively on global standards
- Make sustainability measurable
- Invest in future talent
- Eliminate greenwashing
- Improve transparency in supply chains
- Protect ethical production conditions
- Increase visibility in policy and public affairs
GXN aims to leverage the momentum from Kitzbühel to engage leaders and associations on an ongoing basis and bring these principles to life through further discussions and initiatives.
