Edeltraud Syllwasschy and Michael Gleich who celebrates 40 years with Klio.
D – Michael Gleich, Managing Director at the writing instrument manufacturer, Klio-Eterna, celebrated his 40th anniversary with the company on October 1, 2026.
Gleich started his career at the company in October 1986 as a process mechanic for plastics and rubber technology in the injection moulding department. Following further training as an industrial foreman, he later took over as head of the injection moulding division. He subsequently served as Production Manager and Head of Plastics Technology. During this time, Gleich co-shaped the design of numerous ballpoint pen models. The “Qube” model, in particular, was completely his own creation.
In 2017, Gleich assumed the role of Managing Director, and has since been managing the Wolfach-based company jointly with Edeltraud Syllwasschy. “40 years at Klio is a long time. When you have spent such a large portion of your life with a company, you naturally accumulate a wealth of stories and witness many changes,” Michael Gleich reported.
His fellow Managing Director also paid tribute to his long-standing commitment: “Michael knows Klio better than almost anyone else. Together, we have navigated difficult decisions and, during challenging times, have always acted in the best interests of our employees and the company. He also played a key role in the implementation of EMAS. He has helped shape the company’s development over the course of decades.”
