D –The award ceremony for the companies that received the Top 100 Seal at the beginning of the year was held on June 26, 2026 during the German SME Summit in Heidelberg. uma Schreibgeräte Ullmann, Fischerbach, was among those honoured. In the scientific selection process for company size category C, for companies with over 200 employees in Germany, the writing instrument manufacturer particularly impressed in the category of Innovation-Promoting Top Management.
The former Federal Minister and State Premier, Christian Wulff, took on the role as mentor of this year’s 33rd edition of the innovation competition and congratulated the writing instrument manufacturer. Uma Schreibgeräte Ullmann was recognised as a top innovator for the fourth time.
The Top 100 company profile published to mark the award states: The owner family develops and refines ballpoint pens and other writing instruments in Fischerbach for companies that use them as promotional items. During a strategy meeting, the Managing Directors, Alexander, Jochen and Peter Ullmann, decided to define their company not by offering the lowest price, but instead reliability, quality and responsibility. In future, the ballpoint pen will stand for a clearly-defined brand and responsible business practices.
The article also highlighted innovative products such as ballpoint pens made from recycled PET bottles, as well as a climate-neutral production facility and established quality and environmental management systems.
