NL – The Dutch import company, PF Concept, Roelofarendsveen, is extending its already existing partnership with Prevented Ocean Plastic (POP) in the year 2026.

PF Concept has already been using POP’s material in selected H20 Active Eco bottle ranges since 2020. In future, the Dutch company intends to support the collection of plastic waste by funding several special plastic collecting vehicles that are to be implemented in Indonesia to enable the recovery of polypropylene plastic cups.

Polypropylene cups provide a great threat to the environment, because they are very widely spread and rarely collected on a large scale. By funding the plastic collecting vehicles, PF Concept is supporting POP in deploying the vehicles on underserved, coastal collection routes, as such not only providing stable means of income for local waste collectors, but also preventing plastic from ending up in the oceans. PF Concept then uses the material collected and recycled for the production of its Cirrus and Alto cups, which are made from 100% polyproplyene, 50% of which is recycled material.

In addition to products made from responsibly recycled materials, PF Concept also helps Prevented Ocean Plastic in providing the waste collectors with a safe and reliable infrastructure, fair wages and long-term income stability. This approach not only prevents plastic pollution, it also strengthens the livelihoods and resilience of the local population, ensuring that ecological progress goes hand in hand with social development.

Anne Karine Lemstra, Vice President for Sustainable Development at PF Concept: “We entered this partnership because we believe sustainability must deliver real, measurable impact. By funding collection infrastructure and using that exact material in our own products, we are closing the loop in a tangible way.”
