UK – David Long is stepping down after 22 years as CEO of the British industry service provider, Sourcing City. Ella Long, the former Operations Director, is officially taking over the role of CEO with immediate effect – a position that she has actually been carrying out internally for some time already.
Thanks to a seamless transition, nothing will change regarding the ongoing operating business or strategic alignment of the company from Farnborough. Sourcing City and the respective brands and services will continue to be provided by the experienced team in the established manner.
Long, who founded Sourcing City in 2002, is just about to turn 69 and would like to dedicate more time in future to his local commitment. “I wish to do other things and allocate more time to giving back… I am so grateful to the people in the Sourcing City and Promotional Office teams. Many have been with me since the very early days and they are great friends, who I have become so close to over so many years. Others have joined our journey across the decades and become new friends and they have all played an important part in driving our business forward. None of what has been achieved would have been possible without the great team we have,” he noted in his farewell speech. However, he will not be leaving the company completely: He will continue to be a major shareholder and support the company in an advisory capacity in his role as Chairman.
