CN – The 137th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, was held in Guangzhou, China between April 14 and May 5, 2025. According to the official figures, in total 288,938 visitors from 219 countries and regions travelled to the metropolis in South China to attend the event – a new attendance record for the Canton Fair.
The number of first-time visitors was 171,750, a 14.6% increase compared to last spring’s edition. The majority of the visitors, namely 64.9% of the overall figure, came from countries of the Chinese “Belt and Road Initiative”, the so-called “new Silk Road”. 51,826 visitors travelled to China from Europe, the USA and Canada, which corresponded to a 3.4% increase compared to the 135th edition of the Canton Fair. 140 industry associations and chambers of commerce sent delegations to the show, this figure was up by 17.6%.
The exhibiting companies stated that particularly high-quality and high-performance products as well as those with innovative characteristics and renowned brands were in high demand.
There was a special area for service robots for the first time, where 46 leading Chinese robot companies exhibited 500 robots from 60 sectors. This zone and the Gallery section, where 147 award-winning products were exhibited, were among the most popular areas of the trade show. 736 companies from 50 countries, which presented among others intelligent finished products and high-quality household goods, were united in the international pavilion. The newly-designed Canton Fair app also went down very well. The app is now available in two versions that are tailored to meet the needs of the buyers and suppliers respectively and which enables a totally digitalised experience.
The 138th edition of the Canton Fair will take place in Guangzhou in three phases from October 15 to November 4, 2025.
