I – As of November 4, 2024 Maikii, Vascon di Carbonera, officially holds the status of a benefit corporation, a “Società Benefit” in Italy. As such, the specialist for individually designable, technical products and accessories not only agrees to pursue economic goals, but also places the emphasis of its work on social and ecological values.
The measures implemented within the company include a new, sustainable headquarters, a focus on the development and well-being of the employees including training and personal coaching, gender equality at the workplace as well as supporting social projects such as “NENA“, an initiative against cybermobbing. Furthermore, Maikii assesses its suppliers, both the existing and new ones, based on their social and ecological sustainability. On the product side, the company is striving to do away with disposable plastic completely in its packaging and exclusively use FSC-certified, reusable paper packaging instead. Maikii is also planning the introduction of more environmentally-friendly products such as a range of USB sticks that are produced in Italy.
The CEO, Matteo Fabbrini, considers this to be an important step towards becoming a sustainable enterprise: “With the transformation of Maikii into a Benefit Corporation, we aim to be a virtuous example in the entrepreneurial landscape, demonstrating that it is possible to combine economic success with social and environmental commitment.”
