A – “Jointly developing the promotional products industry,” was the motto of the summer meeting of the Austrian Promotional Products Distributors (VÖW), which was attended by around 60 association members, distributors and supplier partners in Weinviertel in Lower Austria. The attendees engaged in an exchange about the latest products and customising technologies at the Althof Retz from June 12-14, 2024 and discussed current developments in the industry – whether during the meanwhile traditional promotional products show or the guided tour of the cellar and pleasant evening in the wine bar.
VÖW President, Klaus Pohn, stated: “We look forward to this both intense and amicable exchange every year, which always results in fresh impulses.” For example, this year the focus was particularly placed on the innovative power and dynamics that start-ups bring to the economy. “How we can also use this to the benefit of our industry, was a stimulus for discussions, which brought about interesting ideas and led to the request for the board to follow up on this approach,” added Gerhard Mittermaier, Vice President of the VÖW. VÖW’s new online catalogue, which was presented to the distributors during the summer meeting, will also prove to be a source of added dynamics.
The decisive theme of the product show on June 13th, was sustainability – a dominating subject within the industry. The range of topics here spans from the usage of new recycling methods for the production of innovative new materials, to the implementation of a circular economy, through to the transparency of the supply chains and production techniques. On the eve before the meeting, 50 VÖW distributors were able to explore the underworld of Retz during a tour of the historical wine cellar.

The last evening of the summer meeting in the wine bar of the Althof was accompanied by live music. As well as celebrating together, the presentation of the VÖW Supplier Partner of the Award 2024, to Schwan-Stabilo Promotion Products, was also on the agenda.
