Gabi Schupp

D – The Supervisory Board of Villeroy & Boch AG has appointed Gabi Schupp as its new Chairwoman from January 1, 2024 onwards. She succeeds Frank Göring. The contract of the Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Markus Warncke, was additionally extended for a further three years from January 1, 2024 onwards.

“I am delighted that we have been able to win over Gabi Schupp, a very successful and renowned leader from our own ranks for this extremely responsible position,” stated Andreas Schmid, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Villeroy & Boch. “With her long-standing, extensive experience heading global brand companies and accompanying complex M&A processes, she offers the right prerequisites to carry on the growth course initiated by Frank Göring and to successfully manage the integration of Ideal Standard.” The ceramic group signed a purchase contract for the Belgian bathroom equipment company, Ideal Standard, in mid-September.

Over the past five years, together with her management team Schupp has strategically realigned the company’s Dining & Lifestyle business unit. She has restructured both the marketing and sales as well as the procurement strategy activities. As a result, according to company accounts, the turnover and profits have increased significantly in spite of the challenging market environment. Before joining Villeroy & Boch, Schupp held various executive positions at Procter & Gamble for 20 years, she was most recently a member of the global management team and before that she was employed at Spencer Stuart, where in her capacity as Manager of the Consumer Goods and Retail for Europe divisions she was responsible for advising renowned international companies.

Göring, whose contract ends on December 31, 2023 plans, to concentrate more on private issues in the future, whereby he will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity.
