D – The Spread Group has appointed Sven Burscher as its new Head of Licensing and is thus setting a signal for the expansion of its licensing business. Henceforth, he is responsible for the entire licensing portfolio of the Spread Group and in this connection will place a special focus on international marketing strategies. In his capacity as Brand and Retail Director, Burscher was most recently responsible for developing the eCommerce business unit of WildBrain CPLG and significantly contributed towards the licensing agency being distinguished as “Agency of the Year” in 2020 at the International Licensing Awards. The Economics graduate has been working in the licensing industry since 2014 and was among others the main contact person for major rights holders such as Peanuts, Universal, Hello Kitty and Sesame Workshop. Over the past four years, he supervised the expansion of the licensing portfolios at WildBrain CPLG and in the stationary retail trade with customers like Lidl and Puma as well the eCommerce activities with the Spread Group.

With immediate effect, Burscher represents the company for the currently around 190 licensing themes worldwide – including Warner Bros. Entertainment, Zag, Sesame Workshop, Kiddinx and Sony Music. “My aim is to further strengthen licensing as a strategic field of business and enter new cooperations with international best-in-class partners. Beyond this, I would also like to increase the visibility of the spectrum of our license themes and engage in a direct exchange with our licensors,” Burscher explained.
