D – The Evoxx Polished Recycled ballpoint pen by Senator has been distinguished with the international Green Good Design Award 2022. The prize is conferred by the European Centre of Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. In addition to excellent design, the distinction is also awarded to ideas that place a focus on sustainability.
The Evoxx is a climate neutral ballpoint pen, the visible parts of which are made to 95% from recycled ABS recompound. Senator gains the material from left-over and waste material from industrial production, returns and discarded everyday products. The company completely manufactures the pen and the refill in-house at its factory in Germany. The Evoxx displays immense durability since the refill has a writing capacity of up to 5,000 m. Once it does actually run out, Senator offers a free replacement online via the company’s portal. Evoxx convinced the jury with this concept alongside other award winners from over 30 countries.
The Good Design Award was initiated in 1950 and is thus according to own accounts, the oldest international design prize in the world. The Green Good Design label has been conferred to particularly environmentally-friendly and sustainable products, services and technologies since 2009.
