Change in management at the Plato Group: Ton Löbker (r) hands over the reins to Rob Looye.

NL – The Plato Group appointed Rob Looye as its new Chief Executive Officer in May 2022. Looye succeeds Ton Löbker, who had been CEO of the Plato Group since December 2018. Löbker previously held the position of CEO at the promotional products agency, Compacon, which he founded in 1992. At the beginning of 2017, Compacon was taken over by the Plato Group. Löbker: “Since Compacon became part of the Plato Group in 2017, I have been strongly involved in the Group, the last 3.5 years as CEO. It was a great journey where we, despite the challenging economic situation, managed to strengthen the company and market positions of the brands. The reason for stepping down is my wish to explore other opportunities in different directions. I wish the Plato Group and Rob lots of success and am confident that the Plato Group is in good hands and will further strengthen its position in Europe.” Löbker will remain closely linked to the Plato Group in his capacity as adviser of the Commissionary Board.

Looye looks back on wide-ranging experience in different corporate cultures such as groups, private equity companies and family-run businesses. Among others, in the past he worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Philips Lighting, Fabory and PVG. He most recently held the position of CEO at Nedelko. “I am looking forward to continuing the strategic direction of the Plato Group together with the team. Furthermore, to taking on new challenges in the area of business and market development to fulfil our growth ambition,” commented Looye.

According to own accounts, the Plato Group, which is based in Helmond, the Netherlands, is one of the leading promotional products companies in Europe. The well-known brands Clipper Gifts & the Interall Group, Compacon and IGO all belong to the parent company.
