The new Managing Director of NSV, Tobias Husch.
The long-standing Managing Director, Franz Jurthe, left the Nürnberger-Spielkarten-Verlag (NSV) at the end of 2022. He had held the position since the year 2000. Tobias Husch, hitherto Head of Finance, took over running the company in Fürth on January 1, 2023.
Jurthe had decisively shaped the publishing company for the last two decades. He created the basis of the publishing company’s current programme after introducing parlour games. This enabled NSV to establish itself on the market with simple card and dice games. The company went on to win several nominations for “Game of the Year” as well as other awards. Under Jurthe’s aegis, the publishing company notched up international hits on the games scene with the dice game Qwixx and the card games The Game and The Mind.
“Over the course of his long period of office, Franz Jurthe continually took advantage of new opportunities and proved his instinct for games and the market. Communicating with business partners and the customers’ wishes were always priority number one for him,” Husch stated and thanked Jurthe for his passion and the successful cooperation before wishing him all the best for the future.
The change in management goes hand in hand with a new strategical alignment, which the publishing company already initiated last year. In September 2022, NSV founded a distribution partnership with Cartamundi Deutschland GmbH, which has been selling NSV’s product range in Germany and Austria ever since. In December the NSV completely shut down its long-standing promotional products manufacturing branch and is now leaving the promotional games sector to the Cartamundi subsidiary, ASS Altenburger so it can concentrate on the development and expansion of parlour games.
