D – Karlowsky Fashion continues to be family-run: Niels Karlowsky joined the management of the Magdeburg-based traditional company on January 1, 2023 and will in future support his father, Thomas Karlowsky, in determining the fate of the workwear specialists. As such, the over 130-year-old company is being run by the Karlowsky family in the fifth generation already.
“After over three decades of running our family heritage on my own and building up a strong medium-sized company after the reunification, it is going to be a great pleasure running the company jointly with my son, Niels, from now on. With Niels joining the management, we can focus more strongly on the important areas digitalisation, internationalisation and sustainability. The management change is an important impulse that paves the way into the future for the company,” is how the Managing Director, Thomas Karlowsky, explained the new managerial structure.
The 33-year-old Niels Karlowsky has been acquainted with the company, its goals and visions from an early age. Furthermore, he has been working at the company for almost ten years and has continually taken on more and more tasks and responsibilities. He was most recently in charge of the export, strategic company development and marketing departments. “I am looking forward to pushing my father’s visions further in my new role as Managing Director as well as introducing my own visions and thus actively co-shaping the future of the company,” Niels Karlowsky stated about his new position. According to the new co-Managing Director, the priority of his mid-term tasks particularly lies in the development and expansion of the international markets and in addressing the theme of sustainability, both with regards to products and the company as a whole.
