laltex - Laltex UK invests in solar plantUK – The Laltex Group is taking a further step towards sustainability with the installation of 548 solar panels on an overall surface measuring 932 m² at the company’s headquarters in Leigh. According to company accounts, switching over to renewable energy is a testament to the firm’s commitment to become more environmentally-friendly and reduce the carbon footprint. The installation of the solar modules not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions and the company’s reliance on fossil fuels, but also contributes towards reducing the energy bills which ultimately leads to a saving in costs long-term.

The solar panels are expected to generate over 203,000 kWh of electricity in the first year and thus compensate for 48 t of CO2 emissions. Their installation followed a recent investment to replace the entire warehouse lighting system at the warehouse (220,000 ft²) with high bay low energy LEDs with motion sensors.
