D – Inspirion is expanding its photovoltaic system at its German headquarters. The already existing system will be expanded to cover a roof surface of 40,000 m². The over 12,000 modules with a peak performance of approx. 5 MW are to enable an average annual production of around 4.5 mil. kWh of electricity. Hence, at full capacity the company would cover its own needs by far and feed surplus energy into the public network. In this way, the company would like to reduce the CO2 emissions in the region and make a contribution towards climate protection.
The new photovoltaic system is part of a sustainable overall concept with the aid of which Inspirion intends to reduce its ecological footprint. A 60 kW heat pump has already been installed and the fleet of vehicles largely switched over to electric cars. In spite of the weather in Northern Germany that offers little sunshine, the company will almost be energy self-sufficient in the future.
