CH – The QS40 True Biotic of the Swiss manufacturer, Prodir, has won this year’s iF Design Award. The coveted distinction for exceptional services in the area of product design has been conferred by the iF International Forum Design GmbH since 1954. The star-studded jury honoured the writing instrument for its outstanding design and the use of both innovative and sustainable materials.
All external components of the writing instrument, created by Studio C Milano, the studio of designer Christoph Schnug, are made from bio-based polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA). The biopolymers can be broken down by microorganisms – also in natural environments like the sea, fresh water or soil. Exclusively CO2, water and biomass is fed back into the natural cycle.
