D – This year’s GWW-Newsweek came to an end on May 17, 2022 with the final leg at the Dortmund Exhibition Centre. Just under 100 suppliers presented the highlights of their line-ups to interested promotional products buyers and marketing decision-makers from the advertising industry throughout Germany at eight locations in total over the period of two and a half weeks. The concept foresees the participating promotional products distributors inviting visitors to attend the promotional products roadshow.

Due to the pandemic, the Newsweek hadn’t taken place for over two years, which meant the desire to gather information and engage in live experiences and establish direct contacts was greater than ever. The response of the majority of the participants was correspondingly positive – the exhibitors’ strain of travelling paled against the possibility of finally being able to do business again. The possibility of being able to emit direct impulses for the business out into the market after two difficult years caused a relaxed atmosphere.

The precise attendance figures weren’t available at the time of going to press – but as usually the different locations attracted varying numbers of visitors. Factors including the enterprise density at the respective locations, the number of rival trade show events or also the day of the week play a decisive role here. For example, the Monday proved to be rather weak across the board compared to other days of the week. However, overall, it seems like the business with promotional products is gradually picking up speed again in spite of the difficult economic framework conditions.
