A – The Austrian-based company, KP Plattner, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The family business has made a name for itself throughout Europe as an importer and wholesaler for smoking supplies and promotional products. In 1972, the book printer, Kaspar Plattner, founded the company in a small apartment in Innsbruck. In the meantime, 40 employees produce around 100 million cigarette lighters a year and earn an annual turnover of over 20 million Euros. Cigarette lighters and promotional products are individually customised in the in-house printing shop using screen, digital, laser and pad printing methods.
In the year 2017, the company founder handed over the reins of his life’s work to his sons, Markus and Philipp. He continues to carry out an advisory function. In spite of challenging times, delivery bottlenecks and rising prices, according to own accounts, the KP Plattner GmbH has been able to further reinforce its market position over the past few years and steadily increase its turnover.
