D – Brands Fashion has announced a management change: Mathias Diestelmann, who has been employed as the textile specialist’s COO for three years is succeeding Dr. Ulrich Hofmann as CEO of the firm. The latter is taking up the position of Chairman of the Advisory Board. The traditional Hamburg-based, globally-operating company Jebsen & Jessen Textil has been the strategic partner and majority shareholder of Brands Fashion since 2017 already.
Among others, Diestelmann had previously run sourcing offices in Bangladesh and China for over eight years, whereby one of the main focuses of his tasks lay on quality and compliance assurance. After returning from Asia, the 48-year-old integrated the German firm Jefferson, a provider of commodities for discounters, into the corporate structure of Brands Fashion. Diestelmann sees the advancing digitalisation to be one of the big challenges of the future: “Brands Fashion is already well-positioned on the digital front. We already dispose of three cutting-edge, fully-digitalised warehouse locations in Germany and the USA,” the new CEO stated. “We continue to push our further development across the entire production chain and for instance offer our customers the fulfilment of tailor-made B2B and B2C web shops.”
Hofmann, who co-founded Brands Fashion in 2002 and who held the position of CEO at the textile specialists until now, will in his capacity as Chairman of the Advisory Board with immediate effect be working closing together with Diestelmann on the company’s further strategic alignment and will be responsible for all matters to do with sustainability and digitalisation. Among others since 2019 Brands Fashion has been one of the first companies, whose products are distinguished with the “Green Button” seal.
