D – The trade show for the digital industry, dmexco, presented itself for the 11th time in Cologne, true to this year’s motto “Trust in you”. According to the official figures, around 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and more than 600 speakers informed approx. 40,000 trade visitors on September 11 and 12, 2019 about the current and future business potential of the digital economy.
In addition to established formats such as the Experience Stage, the World of Agencies and the after-show party on Wednesday evening, the dmexco also surprised its audience with several new concepts: For example, the “How-To” Stage (Hall 6) offered a platform for practice-based lectures and discussions, whilst in the “Future Park” (Hall 9) 175 technology leaders, visionaries and start-ups presented their products and services related to the current technology trends. The visitors were among others able to test VR goggles and thus experience interesting, virtual showrooms or pace over a racing track with toy cars – that were simply steered by a mobile phone.
In spite of all the digitality, the companies also proved to be extremely versatile when it came down to implementing promotional products: For example, the whole walls of several exhibitor stands were completely decorated with sweets, but the visitors were also delighted at receiving cushions, stickers, postcards, socks, notebooks and bags, which were all the secret, haptic stars of the show.
