D – This year’s Tendence was staged from June 29 to July 1, 2019. For the first time, the event was held for three days instead of four and according to official accounts, 603 exhibitors (2018: 960) presented hip lifestyle and trend products at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. According to the organisers, around 15,000 trade visitors (2018: 17,736 visitors on four days) attended the show to network, experience and order. For the first time, the exhibitors presented their products divided up into the sections retail formats, lifestyles and target groups.

The organisers stated that the change the consumer goods industry is undergoing had contributed towards Tendence adjusting its profile and also towards the fact that the duration of the show was reduced down to three days. Stephan Kurzawski, Executive Director of Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, noted that both the changed concept and the decision to consistently adapt the trade fair in line with the structures and needs of the trade had gone down very well with both the exhibitors and the visitors.

At the same time, the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre launched two new online platforms: the international B2B marketplace, Nextrade, and the new content platform, Conzoom Solutions. Both platforms extend Tendence’s offer beyond the venue dates. The Pioneers of Lifestyle Conference was held for the second time directly after the show on July 2. The conference brings together start-ups, medium-sized firms and companies from the lifestyle industry and focuses on the themes service, retail and the digitalisation of the trade.

The next edition of Tendence is scheduled to take place from July 4-6, 2020 at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre.
