D – Magna sweets has decided to turn its operations climate neutral. In this way, the specialist for promotional sweets wants to make a contribution towards ensuring that the future generations can enjoy an intact environment. Already at the beginning of the year, the company became a partner of Planet-for-the-Planet and included the initiative’s good chocolate into its range of products. With the aid of the “Good Certificate” of Plant-for-the-Planet, Magna sweets is additionally compensating for greenhouse gases to the equivalent of 250 t of CO2, while also binding already emitted CO2 from the atmosphere through planting 1,250 trees. The company enables the training and funding of 35 ambassadors for climate rights.
Plant-for-the-Planet was initiated in 2007 by the at the time nine-year-old Felix Finkbeiner. The aim of the children and youth’s initiative is to plant 1,000 billion trees worldwide following the motto “Stop talking. Start planting.” So far, more than 15 billion trees have been planted in 193 countries. Over 70,000 children and youths from 67 countries are active for the network as climate ambassadors.
