HK – The 34th edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair closed its doors on April 30, 2019 after four successful exhibition days. With 4,380 exhibitors from 31 countries (previous year: 4,360) the trade show that is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) once again confirmed its position as one of the largest events of its kind in the world. According to the organisers, the leading international platform for gift items and promotional products attracted approx. 50,000 visitors from 150 countries to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and thus recorded a significant increase in the number of visitors (2018: approx. 48,000). The latest product trends were presented divided up into 19 theme zones – including Premium Gifts, Fashion Accessories, Toys and Technical Gadgets. The themed area World of Beauty, Fitness & Wellbeing was a new introduction this year, where just under 50 exhibitors predominantly presented technical beauty gadgets and spa equipment and thus covered the current fitness and wellness trend. Furthermore, since last year the theme zone World of Camping & Outdoor Goods has been focusing on the outdoor trend. The established themes Advertising Gifts & Premium, Green Gifts, Tech Gifts as well as the Startup Zone were also represented again.
As always the Hall of Fine Designs, where over 140 internationally renowned brands exhibited exciting novelties, proved to be one of the highlights. The award-winning products of the Hong Kong Smart Design Award were additionally presented in a special area. Apart from examining the latest trends, the visitors traditionally use the trade fair to groom their business contacts and expand their networks; numerous meetings of international groups were held during the show.
Parallel to the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, the Hong Kong Printing & Packaging Fair was held at the Asia WorldExpo, close to the airport. According to official accounts, the fair that was staged for the 14th time this year welcomed over 17,000 visitors. The next edition of the exhibition duo is scheduled to take place from April 27-30, 2020. A detailed report will be published in eppi magazine No. 129 (June 5, 2019).
