E – Arpe Barcelona has developed a new microfibre fabric made from recycled PET bottles and polyester materials. The fabric is a further development of a material implemented hitherto, the fabric guarantees high colour fastness and is Oeko-Tex-certified. According to company accounts, the production of the fabric distinguishes itself in comparison to conventional production methods through a lower energy and water consumption and its lower CO2 emissions and is thus not as harmful to the environment. Until further notice, all towels and cushions that are customised by Arpe with a digital print will be produced from the new material.
The new development is part of the corporate strategy “Ready for the coming future 2017-2020” that is aligned towards sustainable management. This goes hand in hand with Arpe’s participation in the European “Horizon 2020” research and innovation promotion programme. The programme supports companies with a large internationalisation potential with the implement of market-oriented innovation projects and with the development of novel products, processes and services.
