D – The iENA – International Trade Fair “Ideas – Inventions – New Products” came to a close on a positive note after four exhibition days on November 4, 2018. Inventors from over 30 countries came to Nuremberg to present around 800 inventions. According to official accounts, 12,900 trade visitors (2017: approx. 11,100 trade visitors) took the opportunity to inform themselves about new ideas, initiate contract and license negotiations and establish contacts. The first two days of the iENA, which was held in combination with the technology festival Hack & Make for the first time, were exclusively open to trade visitors. Entrepreneurs, investors, developers and supporters from different industries came to discover ideas, inventions and novelties. At the weekend, the iENA was also open to the visitors of the Consumenta, which was staged parallel.
The iENA is organised by Nürnberger AFAG Messen & Ausstellungen GmbH and supports inventors and the creative-minded from the initial idea, to the creation of a prototype, through to the market introduction, marketing and company founding. Beyond this, numerous national and international inventor associations are represented at the iENA.
For the first time, the iENA Innovation Congress was staged, which additionally offered the participants the opportunity for a professional exchange. The stage programme also provided interesting input, whilst a symposium, which addressed the theme “The Digitalisation of School Education”, particularly attracted the attention of the visitors.
The next iENA is scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 3, 2019 in Nuremberg.
