D – With a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony on April 12, 2108, cyber-Wear Heidelberg laid the foundation for their future headquarters in the Friedrichsfeld-West Industrial Park in Mannheim. The CEOs, Steven Baumgärtner and Roman Weiss, officially opened the building site for the 7 mil. Euro investment together with Michael Grötsch (Mayor for Economic Affairs, Labour, Social Affairs and Culture in Mannheim), Jan Schleicher (Executive Director of the contracted building company Michael Gärtner) and Stephan Köhler (shareholder of the property developer, Fähnrich Invest). The event was also attended by employees, families, friends, future neighbours and further representatives.

According to Baumgärtner sufficient space was one of the reasons for relocating. On premises spanning 8,000 m², around 3,950 m² of warehousing space and 1,564 m² of office space are planned, 250 m² of which will be used as an ultra-modern design lab and 270 m² as social rooms, where up until 2020 approx. 100 employees will work.
