D – After three days, the 27th edition of the International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports (IAW) came to an end at Koelnmesse on March 1, 2018. 342 international exhibitors from different areas of trade including also promotional products importers took advantage of the event organised by Nordwestdeutsche Messegesellschaft Bremen-Hannover as a platform for selling off remnant stock and discontinued items – that is slightly less than at the previous year event, when the show was able to set a record with over 350 exhibitors. Furthermore, with according to the official figures 8,400 visitors, the IAW once again recorded a decline in the number of visitors compared to the spring edition of 2017 (9,500 visitors). The Show Director, Ulrich Zimmermann, was nevertheless satisfied with the result.

As usual, the 27th IAW offered a comprehensive overview of the trends and innovations of all trading segments. This time a noticeably large number of stands related to eCommerce were gathered around the eCommerce Arena. The established offer of lectures of the IAW was caught between the bricks-and-mortar business and online trading.

The autumn edition of the IAW is scheduled to take place in Halls 6 and 9 of Koelnmesse from September 19-21, 2018.
