UK – The British communications service provider, Datateam Business Media, presented the 29th edition of the Printwear & Promotion Live! from January 21-23, 2018 under the motto “Where the action is”. Following tradition, the trade show for promotional textiles and embellishing took place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, albeit earlier than usual: The growth of the last years had made it necessary to relocate the show to the larger Halls 17 and 18, which also meant the show had to be pulled forward. The droves of trade visitors that attended the show – full aisles and well-visited stands dominated the scene in Birmingham – made the organisational changes worthwhile. As expected, the countless live presentations proved to be particular crowd-pullers – from the embroidery of shirts, caps, shoes and co. through to new direct-to-garment techniques and the imprinting of promotional products using digital screen or pad printing as well as transfer methods. Alongside current customising trends and the corresponding technical accessories, the visitors were offered among others the latest fashion in the promotional textiles sector. The relevant international textile brands, wholesalers and small specialists presented their trends from athleisure to unisex. An extended lecture programme, workshops and a fashion show presenting the current styles of well-known brands rounded off the wide spectrum of offers.
According to the official accounts, with 5.918 visitors the show recorded a significant increase compared to the previous year (5.620 visitors). Not only the visitors, but also many of the approx. 160 exhibitors were impressed by the fair. A detailed report will follow in eppi magazine No. 121 (February 21, 2018).
