CN – The 26th edition of the Mega Show took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 20-23, and from October 27-29, 2017. According to own accounts, the two phases of the event that is jointly organised by ComAsia and the Mega Expo (Hong Kong) Limited is “the largest and most important sourcing trade exhibitions every October for gifts, premiums, housewares, kitchen & dining, lifestyle products, toys & games and stationery in the Asia-Pacific region”.
A claim that the event also did justice to again this year – in terms of figures, the Mega Show was able to underline its significance as the international platform for buying in the Far East. During the first phase – the more significant of the two for buyers in the area of haptic advertising – according to the official accounts around 3,500 exhibitors from 32 countries exhibited at 4,600 stands, whereby the exhibition surface was divided up into the zones Gifts & Premiums, Giftwrap & Packaging, Festive, Christmas & Seasonal, Housewares & Home Decor, Kitchen & Dining, Glassware Trends, Toys & Games as well as Baby & Nursery. Once again current design trends were presented in the Design Studio Hall. During the second phase, divided into the four zones Giftware & Fashion Accessories, Stationery, Sanitary & Bathroom Accessories as well as Housewares & Home Textiles, around 500 exhibitors from nine countries presented their goods and services at approx. 650 stands.
Whereas the total number of exhibitors was slightly down on last year’s result (4,161), the number of visitors rose again compared to 2016 (40,926): According to ComAsia over 35,000 buyers attended the first phase and over 11,000 attended the second phase of the Mega Show.
In 2018, the trade show is once again scheduled to take place from October 20-23, and from October 27-29.
