D – As the exhibition organisers, Reed Exhibitions, announced in an official press release on October 18, from 2019 onwards the viscom is to be held parallel to the PSI Show in Düsseldorf. Up until now, “Europe’s Trade Show for Visual Communications” alternated between Düsseldorf and Frankfurt annually and was held in the autumn. The viscom will be staged parallel to the “Leading European Show for the Promotional Products Industry” for the first time from January 8-10, 2019. In the course of the change in scheduling, viscom will not take place in the autumn of 2018.
With this new concept, Reed Exhibitions intends to create the “biggest alliance of shows focussing on advertising and selling in Europe”, divided up into autonomous events. According to the organisers, together the two shows boast more than 1,200 exhibiting companies and around 28,000 trade visitors from 80 nations. “Hence they cover the entire spectrum of visual, textile and haptic advertising,” said Hans-Joachim Erbel, CEO Reed Exhibitions Germany. The focus lies on the themes Promotion & Sales, Signmaking & Print as well as Textile & Soft Signage.
Visiting the PSI will continue to be restricted to PSI members and certified agencies. Vice versa the PSI members have the opportunity to profit from the wide spectrum of the viscom – especially in terms of the printing and customising technology sector. In 2019, the PSI Show is occupying Halls 9 to 12, whereas viscom will be staged in Hall 13 and 14 of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. Especially for the marketing decision-makers, the “Marketing and Retail Forum” will be the central point of attraction at the viscom, where the focus will lie on the themes POS, Premium Packaging, Brand Communication as well as Merchandising and Licensing. In order to enable visitors a fast and targeted admission process, in future three entrances will be open: Entrance North for the PSI, Entrance East for the viscom and in addition Entrance North East at Hall 13.
