RUS – This year’s autumn edition of the IPSA – International Promotional & Merchandising Industry Show – was staged at the Crocos Expo in Moscow from September 5-7, in Pavilion 1, Hall 4 (which was only partly occupied). The trade fair takes place once in the spring and once in the autumn, whereby the autumn edition is traditionally more important. The event – which was once again accompanied by a comprehensive lecture and seminar programme for marketing professionals – was organised by Reed Exhibitions Russia with the support of the Düsseldorf-based PSI (“powered by PSI”).
The target group is marketing specialists from the industry and retail trade, advertising agencies, promotional products distributors and consultants as well as the producers of haptic advertising. According to the official accounts around 150 suppliers of haptic advertising exhibited – in some cases at individual stands, but mostly at uniform stands. The exhibitors were frequently national and regional suppliers, as well as several internationally-operating writing instruments suppliers. A wide spectrum of haptic advertising was covered, in addition to writing instruments and calendars or notebooks, items that specifically target the Russian market were also showcased. As at the previous event, the big importers were absent, obviously they no longer favour this platform. The exhibitors were mainly smaller companies that used the show to groom existing contacts and win over new customers. The number of first-time exhibitors is remarkable: According to official accounts, 60 suppliers of haptic advertising presented at this 32nd edition of the IPSA for the first time.
At the time of going to press, the official attendance figure was not available. According to the exhibitors, after getting off to a sluggish start on the first day, a high number of interested visitors attended the event on the second day. The stands were evidently well-attended, the aisles were bustling. The flow of visitors ebbed away again on the last day of the fair.
The spring edition of the IPSA is scheduled from February 13-15, 2018, and will also be held at the Crocos Expo in Moscow, however this time in Pavilion 2, Hall 5. A detailed report will be published in eppi magazine No. 367 (October 11, 2017).
