D – The anniversary event of viscom was staged in Hall 8 of the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre from November 2-4, 2016. Under the motto “we connect”, the international trade fair for visual communications that is organised by Reed Exhibitions Germany, which was founded 30 years ago as a meeting point for advertising technologies, light advertising and textile customising, unites two trade events at one location today: The viscom Sign focuses on all themes to do with print and advertising technologies, the viscom POS presents analogue and digital solutions for the display, packaging and premium packaging sectors. According to the official figures, the viscom welcomeed 307 exhibitors and 9,184 visitors, which corresponded to a slight decline in both areas compared to the previous edition (2014: 325 exhibitors and 10,064 visitors), which the organisers attributed to the strong trade fair year including among others the drupa, which takes place every four years.
The “viscom world of inspiration” special zone was dedicated to the key topic customising this year and primarily provided visitors, who were interested in visual sales boosters and haptic advertising media with plenty of ideas. Furthermore, the exhibits of no less than four industry awards provided inspiration. Finally, a comprehensive lecture programme comprising of 50 speakers offered know-how first-hand.
Following the alternating venue principle, the next edition of the viscom will be staged in Düsseldorf in 2017. The exact dates have not yet been finalised.
