B – The Promgifts was held at the Tour&Taxis in Brussels for three years parallel to the trade shows Entreprendre/Ondermemen and E-shop Expo, which are organised by the Advanced Fair. This year the Belgian industry association BAPP (Belgian Association of Promotional Products) took a new line of approach and organised the Belgian promotional products show under its own direction: This year’s Promgifts was staged on April 13 and 14, 2016 under the motto “The Power of Product Media“ at the Brabanthal in Leuven. 47 exhibitors (2015: 75) including promotional products suppliers as well as several retail companies that also operate on the B2B market exhibited at shell scheme stands. In contrast to the previous years, no distinction was made between suppliers and distributors. In addition to the Belgian suppliers, several companies from other European countries were among the exhibitors.

According to the organisers, around 500 visitors attended the event in Leuven, primarily end users. If one takes the opinion of many of the exhibitors as the benchmark, the trade fair’s new strategy that banks on class instead of the masses evidently proved successful. The well-attended lecture programme, which accompanied the trade show on both days, was also a success: Representatives of agencies and companies, among others from the Belgian brewery group, Duvel Mortgat, reported about their experiences with promotional products – an offer that met with the interest of many of the visitors.
