F/UK – The Raja Group that is based in Roissy, France and which is, according to own accounts, the European market leader in the B2B mail order business for packaging materials, has taken over the British mail order company, Morplan. In purchasing Morplan from the Retif Group, the Raja Group, which is already represented on the British market by its subsidiary Rajapack, intends to double its volume of business and extend its competences to include new product areas as well as expanding its customer base. The transaction was financed using the group’s own capital.
Morplan has a headcount of 120 employees and in 2014 the company turned over almost 25 mil. Euros with an operating result of 10%. The company that specialises in shop-fitting and the presentation of goods for the retail trade pursues a multi-channel strategy that encompasses a 500-page catalogue, a line-up of 5,000 products, three stores (in London, Glasgow and Bristol), a website and a sales team.
The Raja Group is represented in 15 European countries. Overall, the group comprises of 18 firms and, according to own sources, the group offers 50,000 products, which are available from stock within between 24 and 48 hours. In 2014, the group attained a turnover of 438 mil. Euros and employed over 1,500 people.
