UK – On December 12, 2013 the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA) celebrated its annual Christmas Lunch at the Guoman Tower Hotel in London. According to official sources, 191 industry professionals attended the event, which delivered an afternoon of relaxed entertainment whilst celebrating professional success within the BPMA community. Guests settled down to a three course lunch whilst the new BPMA chairman Matt Franks, Managing Director of Fluid Branding, reflected on the professional initiatives and solutions that the BPMA had delivered throughout the past year. Franks unveiled some of the Associations’ key initiatives for 2015, he also shared that the BPMA will mark its 50th anniversary in 2015 by launching its own manifesto at the Trade Only National show in January to reinforce its mission. BPMA Director General Gordon Glenister presented the association’s Sword of Honour to ex Chairman Viv Blumfield, director of Pro-motion Consulting, for her dedication and service to the industry du ring her chairmanship.
Furthermore, the winners of the Innovative Product of the Year Award (Desktop Ideas) and Supplier Unsung Hero of the Year Award (Debbie Illingworth/ The Pen Warehouse) were selected. Last but not least, the guests helped to raise more than 5,200 British Pounds (approx. 6,600 Euros) for the charity Make A Wish Foundation.
